Tanzania’s location on the African continent lends to weather patterns that allow it to be visited any month of the year for superb, unparalleled wildlife and nature viewing. Because it is only three degrees south of the Equator, its sunrises and sunsets are generally at the same time every day, regardless of time of year. High temperatures are also kept at bay due to the higher elevation of most parks and conservation areas, which makes for a more pleasant safari experience. While it can get hot and muggy in the low lying surrounding villages, the parks are considerably cooler and, particularly in the Serengeti, significantly drier.
