We’ve put this safari together for those who are interested in spending a good deal of their time in the Serengeti. The majority of visitors fly or drive in to the Serengeti and only spend time in the region where the migration is present, which means they often miss the hidden gems of this spectacular park.

This schedule gives you the opportunity to see the various regions of the Serengeti and offers you the chance to really be out in the wilderness as we’ll be taking you to places where there are virtually no other tourists.

Days 1-6

Serengeti safari

The length of stay is up to you but we recommend a solid six days to give you ample time to explore several regions. We’ll follow the migration for a day or two –  here is where you’ll see the bulk of the other tourists who are hoping to catch some photos of a chase and possibly a kill. Depending on the time of year we may try to spot animals giving birth and the streaming herds pouring across the Grumeti River. We will also try to see a few day hunts by cheetahs, for example, and evening hunts and chases by predators including lions and leopards. You’ll have the option to stay in lodges, luxury camps or private camps.

We’ll then spend some time in the less explored regions of the Serengeti and really immerse ourselves in the African wilderness. Our evenings will be spent in private tents with only some canvass separating you and the wildlife to complete the ultimate safari experience!

Days 7-9

Ngorongoro Crater

Even though this is a Serengeti-intensive safari, a trip to Tanzania would not be complete without a stop at Ngorongoro Crater. You’ll spend one to two nights in the luxury lodges overlooking the crater rim and enjoy the beauty of an early morning game ride at the bottom of the crater. Depending on energy levels we can also fit in: walks to Empakaai Crater, visits with local tribes, mountain bike rides and trips to Eyasi Lake.

Days 9-11

Lake Manyara

We recommend one to two days here for some good game viewing. For those who are itching for more activity a mountain bike ride down the escarpment and along the Lake Manyara shore should do the trick! Nights will be spent in lodges and you can select the luxury level.

Days 12-13

Arusha National Park

We’ll finish off your journey in Arusha National Park where you can do some canoeing and hike up Mount Meru. We’ll also have the chance to do a final game drive if you wish!

All itineraries can be tailored to include hot air balloon ridesZanzibar trips Kilimanjaro treks or safaris to parks in southern or eastern Tanzania.
