March through May bring the heavy rains, but they also bring heavily discounted lodging prices. Going on safari in March, April or May also means you’ll be sharing the park with a lot less people!
Day 1
Arrive at JRO where you’ll be met by one of our team. They will take you to Arusha for dinner and a good night’s sleep.
Day 2
Today you’ll fly to central Serengeti. Depending on which month you travel, you’ll either explore the eastern/central regions or the central/western regions.
Days 3-6
Intensive Serengeti game driving. The park will be nice and green this time of year.
Days 7-8
Head to Ndutu region – the eastern side of the Serengeti. This region is great for cheetahs. Overnight at Ndutu Lodge.
Day 9
Head out to Ngorongoro Crater with a stop at Olduvai Gorge on the way.
Day 10
A full day in Ngorongoro Crater
Day 11
A morning in Karatu area where you can walk with a Masai warrior and visit a local orphanage. In the afternoon you’ll drive through Lake Manyara National Park. Overnight in Karatu region.
Day 12
After breakfast you’ll head back to JRO (Kilimanjaro International Airport) for your return trip home.
All itineraries can be tailored to include hot air balloon rides, Zanzibar trips , Kilimanjaro treks or safaris to parks in southern or eastern Tanzania.
